Renee (Tuinstra) Trexler ’97 and her husband, Michael, announce the birth of Jonathan Peter on September 4, 2013. He was welcomed by his siblings, Nathaniel (12), Hannah (10), Lydia (7), Sarah (5), and Elisabeth (2). The Trexlers live in Kalamazoo, Michigan, where Michael is a hospital physician and Renee is a homeschooling mom. Mike ’99 and Kristen (Stewart) Lewis ’06 announce the birth of Jack Michael on April 21, 2013. He was welcomed by his big sister, Kate (4). The family lives in Columbus, Ohio, where Mike is the CFO of a local restaurant company and Kristen enjoys staying home with the kids. Paul ’00 and Ellen (Laber) Swenson ’00 announce the adoption of Emmanuella Ama-Ellen (3) from Ghana on November 27, 2013. She joined her three brothers, Sam (12), Hazen (10), and Noah (8). Rachel (Frey) Harshbarger ’02 and her husband, Ryan, announce the birth of Madelyn Noelle on January 3, 2013. She joined siblings Abigail (6) and Jackson (3). Ryan works at RGM Hardwoods, and Rachel works part time at Parker Hill Community Church. The family resides in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Brian Dennert ’03 and his wife, Beth, announce the birth of Micah James on June 28, 2013. He was welcomed home by sister Emma (2). Brian completed his Ph.D. in New Testament and early Christianity at Loyola University Chicago in December and currently serves as an associate pastor for Trinity Presbyterian Church, where he oversees the church’s new site in Palos Heights, Illinois. Debbie (Compton) Whitlock ’03 and her husband, Craig, announce the birth of Leah Grace on September 27, 2013. Leah joined big sisters Claire (2) and Britney (15). Debbie teaches elementary music in Centerville, Ohio. The family resides in Kettering, Ohio. Michael ’05 and Erin (Delp) Lyons ’04 announce the birth of Lydia Eliah on February 18, 2013. She was welcomed home by her big brother, Jeremiah (2). Michael received his Master of Divinity from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in May 2010, and the family now resides in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he is pursuing a Ph.D. in Old Testament from Hebrew Union College. Steve ’04 and Sheri (Trennepohl) Powers ’05 announce the birth of Karissa on September 4, 2013. They reside in Dayton, Ohio, where Steve works for Wright State University as a police officer and Sheri is a stay-at-home mom.
