Kearney Assistant Prnfessors: Maryalyce Jeremiah, Elvin King, Joy Mackay, Randy Ross This division seeks to provide a program of physical development and education in the fundamentals of organized play, a sense of good sportsman– ship in the total development of wholesome and effective Christian char– acter, and a course of study designed to aid those looking forward to teach– ing health and physical education or coaching athletics. Theory courses, along with practical experience, are designed to prepare students for work in physical education, various fields of camping, recrea– tion, or to administer youth activities in churches and youth organizations. REQUIREMENTS FOR A COMPREHENSIVE TEACHING MA ]OR IN HEAL TH, PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND RECREATION. Sixty-four quarter hours. Majors are required to spend two quarters as an assistant in general physical educa– tion classes.
