This is only one of the many thin arguments put put by the After the school hook fight last fall, in which Messrs. This spring (ho fichsi*. hoard issue ha's caused these gentle men to again resuViect their itiroo- worn argument anil they are now crying “ Free school books!” thinking possibly the ’-argument ’would take with the lower classes. But from all appearances tluse gentlemen will need more still stronger arguments to prove to the public- that their school board ticket should he elected. The cry. of "free books” for the sole purpose ovf electing Mr. Kidgway’s ticket does not seem to meet with general favor among citizens. 1 Wednesday evening Mr, Ridgway sent two of his representatives, George Hiffand William Ilos3, to a candidate on the Citizens ticket for.school board, Wanting to know of him if he wouldn’t support free books Sad if he wouldn’t, cross the fence and allow his name'to be used with the Ridgway crowd.
