The Yellow Jacket men’s basketball team took a two-week discipleship trip to Israel from July 20 through August 3. Head Coach Pat Estepp ’98, MEd ’08 led the group of 26 travelers, which included 11 players, coaches and staff along with their wives and a select number of players’ parents. The entourage met up with John Farwell of Athletes in Action for a walk through the Bible from Exodus to the resurrection. “This experience made the Bible come to life,” Estepp explained. “We hiked 80 miles in 12 days, in temperatures as hot as 110 degrees. We had the opportunity to visit sites we’ve all read about in the Scriptures and even got to play four games against Palestinian teams.” Three of the contests were staged in Bethlehem with another in Jerusalem. The games were scheduled around visits to such places as Mount Arbel, Ein Gedi, Sea of Galilee, Mount of Olives, and Jericho.
