Caring Well. Staying Well. COVID-19 Operating Plan | Summer 2021

3 CaringWell. StayingWell. PRACTICING Caring Well. Staying Well. PROTOCOLS Using Philippians 2:3–4 as our guide, Cedarville University’s comprehensive plan encourages the campus community to, in humility, consider others as well as themselves and empowers them to take responsibility for their own health and safety amid the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic. This is an unprecedented opportunity to live out Cedarville’s core value of “Love for Others” as we take the precautions necessary to protect ourselves and those most vulnerable. We desire to create a culture of confidence and accountability, where our Cedarville community and our guests feel comfortable on campus and empowered to take personal actions that help facilitate a healthy campus experience. “Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.” —Philippians 2:3–4 Assess Your Personal Health Conduct a personal wellness check, and if feeling sick, self-isolate while seeking medical care. Check with your event’s coordinator for specific instructions. Practice Good Hygiene Wash your hands frequently and avoid touching your face. Maintain Your Space Take personal responsibility to sanitize and clean the spaces you use regularly (classroom, residence hall room, and office). The Heart of theMatter 1. Humility: We don’t know if we have COVID-19 and are merely asymptomatic. 2. Considering others more significant than ourselves: We don’t know whether someone near us has underlying health issues or family members with compromised health. 3. Love for others: We want to see our campus, our community, and the economy stay open and thrive so taking steps to slow the spread of COVID-19 helps us all.
