Cedarville Magazine Spring 2024

REMEMBERING FAITHFUL SERVANTS We extend deepest sympathies to the family and friends of four longtime faculty and staff members who recently went home to be with the Lord. Collectively, they served at Cedarville University for more than 170 years and have impacted thousands of lives for the Kingdom. We mourn their loss but rejoice that they are now with their Savior. Elvin King passed away on November 9, 2023. He served as a professor for 41 years, teaching courses such as Biomechanics, Measurement and Evaluation, and Kinesiology. For his contributions to cross country and track and field, he was inducted into the Cedarville University Athletic Hall of Fame in 1988, the NCCAA Hall of Fame in 1993, and the NAIA Hall of Fame in 2005. His passion for education and athletics left a lasting impact on Cedarville, and he was loved by students and colleagues alike. The University named the Elvin R.
