If you want to know what the Bible
says about itself, the best place to look is
Psalm 19. The psalmist provides an outline
for how the Bible can work in your life.
The Bible will restore your soul.
The law of the Lord is perfect, converting
the soul.
The Bible will renew your mind.
The testimony of the Lord is sure, making
wise the simple.
The Bible will rejoice your heart.
The statutes of the Lord are right,
rejoicing the heart.
The Bible will refocus your vision.
The commandment of the Lord is pure,
enlightening the eyes.
The Bible will reinforce your life.
The fear of the Lord is clean,
enduring forever.
The Bible will replace your doubts.
The judgments of the Lord are true and
righteous altogether.
The Bible will reorder your values.
More to be desired are they than gold,
yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also
than honey and the honeycomb.
The Bible will redirect your path.
Moreover by them is thy servant
warned: and in keeping of them there is
great reward.
Don’t just read this book as a textbook
or put it on your shelf. Make it part of
your life.
