Cedarville Magazine Fall 2018

Chick-fil-A Coming to Campus By July 2020, Cedarville University students will have the option of eating at Chick-fil-A on campus, thanks to an agreement between the University and Chick-fil-A. The new eatery will be open to students and the general public. The Chick-fil-A restaurant is part of the University’s 10-year master plan announced last fall. “We are excited to create another dining option for our students,” said Thomas White, President of Cedarville University. “This new venue will take pressure off our current dining hall during peak hours, while also providing another food option for people in the Cedarville community.” The new restaurant will be managed by Pioneer Food Services, which currently operates the University’s dining hall. Stevens Student Center Gets a Makeover The changes are evident the moment you walk in the front door. There, on the far right wall, Cedarville mascot Stinger welcomes you — all 22 feet by 35 ½ feet of him. The gigantic yellow jacket is not the only change awaiting visitors to the Stevens Student Center (SSC). Vibrant blue and white diagonals pop on the walls; new enlarged directional lettering points you to Admissions, restrooms, and the dining hall. Add to all this new paint, carpet, and artwork, and it’s a lively look that matches Cedarville’s lively student community. In addition to reflecting Cedarville’s excitement and energy, the facility also became more user-friendly for outside guests and prospective students. Beyond the changes to the upstairs lobby, portions of the lower lobby were repainted and recarpeted. The event rooms and Admissions front office also received new carpet, and the Career Services office lobby is being repainted. “We also want the space to reflect the character and values of Cedarville so guests are informed and students are reminded of who we are,” explained Chad Jackson ’05, Creative Director, who led the transformation of the SSC. “My hope is that every person who walks into the student center will feel welcomed, energized, and excited about being on campus.” Golf Open Funds Scholarships 2018 CEDARVILLE SCHOLARSHIP GOLF OPEN Presented by § § Pioneer College Caterers § § Danis § § First Baptist Church, Elkhart § § Goodson Clothing & Supply Co § § McGohan Brabender § § Paul J.
