YELLOW JACKET JACKETS FACE OHIO STATE, DAYTON LADY JACKETS XC NO. 1 IN NCCAA The Cedarville University women’s cross country team was ranked No. 1 this fall among schools in the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA). The Lady Yellow Jackets had a combined 5 -kilometer time of 1 hour, 32 minutes, and 29 seconds for their top five runners at the prestigious Queens Challenge at McAlpine Creek Park in Charlotte, North Carolina, giving them the best top-five combined time in the NCCAA. Following Cedarville in the national rankings were Roberts Wesleyan University in second, Geneva College in third, Bethel College in fourth, and Judson University in fifth. The Lady Yellow Jackets’ solid performance at the Queens Challenge was led by Alayna Ackley ’ 22 , who turned in a career-best 5 K of 17:41.9 . The Lady Jackets finished fifth overall. Cedarville University men’s basketball had two of its biggest games before the regular season ever began. On October 30 , the Yellow Jackets faced Ohio State in an exhibition match, the first time the two schools had faced each other in 113 years. Three days later, the Yellow Jackets played the University of Dayton (UD) for the first time in 70 years. The meeting with UD was the first since the 1949–50 campaign when they played twice.
