_arms The8,000-square-foot addition to Alford Auditorium is addressing current space needs of music and drama.The new building houses a large rehearsal room for vocal and instrumental groups, electronic music computer lab, music libraries,faculty studios and offices,and instrument storage area. Drama production is facilitated by space for set building and storage,dressing rooms, and rest rooms. All of Alford is now air-conditioned. Faculty member Barbara Loach'77 recently completed doctoral studies in Latin American literature at The Ohio State University.She researched contempo- rary Chilean women authors for her dissertation. Cedarville has promoted her to associate professor of Spanish. Alumni Weekend Alumsenjoythe reception after the varsity game. During the alumni free- throw contest at half- time of the varsity game,alumni and friends won sweatshirts by making three out of five free throws. He remarked,"I can't believe I madethree free throws after all these years!" The women's alumni game ran a tight competition until the blue team broke away in the last quarter with a final score of 64-53. Seventeen playersshowed their skills in the men's alumni basketball game. Thefinal score was 127-81, blue over gold. Luci Swindofi L uci Swindoll visited Cedarville College on February 1 and 2 to share her Celebrate Life Seminar with the College and surrounding community. She expounded on ways to celebrate God,life, and relationships. Luci is the sister of Chuck Swin- doll and is a former executive for Mobil Oil Corpora- tion. Currently,she is vice president of public relations at Insight for Living, Chuck's international radio ministry. Luci has written several books including: Wide My World,Narrow My Bed;Living and Loving the Single Life;After You've Dressed For Success; and The Alchemy ofthe Heart. Luci maintains an ambitious speaking schedule across the United States. She motivates her audi- ences to celebrate life--to "take each day as a gift from God and live it with a genuine sense of adven- ture."
