2023-24 Library Student Staff Awards Centennial Library Scholarship Each year the library invites applicants for the Centennial Library Alumni Scholarship in Library Science. This is given to a deserving senior or recent alum who is preparing to pursue graduate education in librarianship. Graduating senior Rachel Crane is our 2024 scholarship recipient. Top Scholar Award The Top Scholar Award goes to the graduating senior who has achieved the highest grade point average. Kate Hinks, A Student Supervisor majoring in Psychology, is our Top Scholar Award winner for 2023-24. Student Choice Award The Student Choice Award provides an opportunity for library student employees to recognize a peer colleague who exemplifies teamwork, positive attitude, knowledge, initiative, and/or communication skills. The Student Staff Advisory Group selected Jared Wilcox as the recipient of the 2023-24 Student Choice Award. Jared is a Special Education major who works in the CMC. SOAR Award The SOAR Award is presented to a library student employee who demonstrates leadership, creativity, service, initiative, or performance that exceeds the normal expectations of the job description. The Library Managers’ Council selected Taylor Ross, a junior Student Supervisor, as this year’s recipient of the SOAR Award.
