2025 Library Internship Biblical Heritage Gallery In 1953, when Cedarville College stood on the brink of closing, God wrote a new chapter with a merger with the Baptist Bible Institute of Cleveland. Since then, the Lord has consistently placed new leaders over Cedarville when the circumstances required, bringing their God-given gifts and abilities to meet the needs of Cedarville University. Across more than seven decades, only four men have served as president, each building on the work of those who preceded them. All were uniquely gifted, distinctly different, and yet were united by one calling: to lead Cedarville forward while holding fast to its mission “For the Word of God and the Testimony of Jesus Christ.” This exhibit invites you to walk through that remarkable legacy. Through a collection of artifacts and items, you’ll encounter the events and accomplishments that marked the four presidents who shaped this University: James T. Jeremiah, 1954-1978 Paul H. Dixon, 1978-2003 William E. Brown, 2003-2013 Thomas White, 2013-present Three seniors considering careers as academic research librarians or archivists are preparing for graduate school by taking the Centennial Library's internship course. Lauren Crider (English), Merry Moon Hkawn (Linguistics) and Nathaniel Borling (International Studies) will be gaining hands-on experience in a wide variety of academic library operations and services and will also contribute to building the collection and attend a professional conference. They will be featured speakers at the annual Library Careers Dinner on November 17. Lauren, Merry Moon and Nate have participated in the Library Careers Program activities since their freshman year. They all work in the Library's Circulation Department and were all promoted to the leadership position of Student Supervisor. The Library Internship is a 3-credit course, offered as ENG 4230 in cooperation with the Department of English, Literature and Modern Languages. Julie Deardorff, Associate Professor of Library Science, noted that 63 students have taken the internship course since she started offering it in 2007, including current librarians Kirsten Setzkorn and Jess Elder and library staff Holly Caldwell and Jordan Davis. The Biblical Heritage Gallery is located in the upper level of the Centennial Library and is open during regular library hours. The exhibit runs until October 17.
