Aaron Cook ‘99 is the new Director of Discipleship Ministries at Cedarville University. He returns to Cedarville from Scioto Hills Christian Camp and Retreat Center, where he served as Program Director. While Cook has a passion for the outdoors and doing ministry in a camping environment, his number one love is discipleship. “My favorite part at Scioto Hills was building into the lives of college students, training them, walking with them, stepping back and watching them spread their wings and fly,” he said. “Many of them were from Cedarville. It was a very natural fit.” Cook will meet with 12 students on the Discipleship Council, who will lead groups of eight to nine Discipleship Leaders, who will then disciple the 100-plus discipleship groups on campus. “It really is a 2 Timothy 2:2 model: We entrust the Gospel to faithful men and women who will be able to train others to do the same,” he said. He will also run the Fit to Be Tied program, which pairs seriously dating or engaged couples with mentor couples. “We provide them with a series of relevant seminars to aid them in preparing for a God-honoring marriage,” he said. “Our hope with both programs is to produce reproducers.” Cook noted the passion of Cedarville students to pursue God. “There is such an opportunity and responsibility to be diligent and faithful to point them to Christ,” he said. “Our influence at Cedarville for the Word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ goes far beyond these four years. We want to watch them persevere to the end, living lives that overflow the Gospel of Jesus into the lives of others.” Aaron Cook ‘99 Returns to Cedarville as Director of Discipleship Ministries
