alumnotes | News & Births BIRTHS Phil Graves ’94 and his wife, Kristie, announce the adoption of Elliana Mae on January 26, 2017, from Armenia. She joined older siblings Kara (13), Ethan (11), and Owen (7). The Graves live in Brunswick, Maryland, where Phil serves as the Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church of Brunswick. Olivia (Carter) Paige ’95 and her husband, Mike, announce the adoption of Derek on November 6, 2013, and Riley on November 4, 2015. Renee (Tuinstra) Trexler ’97 and her husband, Michael, announce the birth of Miriam Lynnette on November 29, 2016. Happy siblings include Nathaniel (15), Hannah (13), Lydia (10), Sarah (8), Elisabeth (5), and Jonathan (3). The Trexlers live in Kalamazoo, Michigan, where Michael is a physician and Renee is a homeschooling mom. Michael Gumprecht ’07 was recently added to the prestigious “Legal Elite” list by Georgia Trend Magazine. The list ranks the top lawyers in Georgia as selected by a poll of several thousand members of the State Bar of Georgia. In just the third year since starting his own practice, Michael has recovered more than $20 million for injured clients, all of whom were represented on contingency. Tarah (Boone) Tucker ’06 is excited to announce that her son, Caleb (7), was recently declared cancer free. We rejoice with her family for God’s healing! Richie ’07 and Regan (Rice) Reeder ’07 are praising God for the recent liver transplant for their daughter Myka Joy. Myka was born in 2015 with a rare genetic disease, methylmalonic acidemia. Her fragile body’s inability to process protein required the major surgery, received on January 7, 2017. After a 54-day hospital stay, Myka has been recovering at home trying to keep up with big sister, Alivia! Casey (Foulk) Hagy ’12 is a Certified Public Accountant with Belfint, Lyons & Shuman, P.A. She was recently promoted to supervisor in the firm’s accounting and auditing department. Casey specializes in nonprofit audits and will celebrate her fifth anniversary with BLS in June. She resides in Elkton, Maryland. Jesse Kuiken ’12 is the Pastor of Worship and Youth at Roseau Community Church in Roseau, Minnesota. NEWS Cedarville University | Summer 2017
