Brought to You by Sports Information EXCELLENCE OFF THE COURT: BUETTELL AND WOMACK PROMOTED TO ASSOCIATE ATHLETIC DIRECTORS Vice President for Athletics Chris Cross has announced Mark Womack '82 and Abbey Buettell's promotions to Associate Athletic Director positions within Cedarville University Athletics. Buettell began her Cedarville career in 2014 as a resident director in the Student Life and Christian Ministries division. She joined Athletics in 2022 as Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance and Senior Woman Administrator. In her expanded role, she oversees NCAA, G-MAC, and institutional compliance, represents the Lady Jackets at the conference and national levels, and supports Athletics events and facilities. “Abbey has served Cedarville Athletics with excellence, providing outstanding leadership and oversight in compliance,” Cross said. “Her ability to manage multiple responsibilities with professionalism and care has demonstrated her readiness to help lead our division at a higher level.” Abbey and her husband, Stephen Buettell '14, reside in Cedarville with their son, Charlie. Womack is in his 43rd year of service at Cedarville and has served as the Yellow Jackets’ first fulltime Sports Information Director since 1983. He coordinates information and statistics for Cedarville’s 18 varsity sports and oversees athletic marketing and promotions. He has received Cedarville’s Distinguished Service and Staff Member of the Year Awards, NAIASIDA's Clarence “Ike” Peterson Award, G-MAC's Sports Information Staff of the Year recognition, and the College Sports Communicators’ 25-year award for his long-time service to the University. “I am honored to serve alongside Mark at Cedarville University,” Cross remarked. “This long-overdue promotion recognizes more than four decades of exemplary service to the University and our Athletics division.” Mark and his wife, Amy (Young) Womack '80, also a Cedarville graduate, reside in Cedarville.
