METHODS: INTERVIEW Interviews provided clarification for survey responses. Interviews were tape recorded, transcribed and coded for concepts. • Concepts were grouped into categories: • Lesson planning • Translation/communication • Background knowledge/diversity • Changes to self • Classroom language • Cultural awareness Researchers combined or eliminated data that were not consistently supported by the responses.
