Cedarville's winter athletic season saw Amy Zehr and Ken Rucker earn NAIA All-American honors.
Amy Zehr, Cedarville's first NAIA All-American in women's basketball, was named to the Division ll first team.The senior elementary
education major from Ft. Wayne,Indiana, was the Lady Jackets'third all-time leading scorer with 1,646 points and the all-time leading
rebounder(1,049). She set single-game records for most points(41), most rebounds(26)and most steals(8)and was NAIA District 22
Division II and Mid-Ohio Conference Player of the Year.
The NAIA District 22 Division I named Ken Rucker,senior management majorfrom Philadelphia, Pennsylvania,to its All-American
third team. Ken's 2,281 points place him second and his 1,200 rebounds place him fourth on Cedarville's all-time records. He was
named Player of the Year for both the NAIA District 22 Division I and the Mid-Ohio Conference. Rucker and Eric Mounts'81 are
Cedarville's only NAIA basketball All-Americans.
Tim Warren'83 and his wife,Julie, happily
announce the birth of Lindsay Hannah on March 22,
1993.She weighed6lbs.7oz.Tim is an
unemployment compensation tax auditor for the
Florida Department ofLabor and Employment
Security. He is also enrolled in the master of divinity
program at Luther Rice Seminary in Lithonia,
Georgia.The Warrens live in Havana,Florida.
Dennis'85 and Jonda Hankins Arbogast'87N are
thrilled to announce the arrival ofIsaac Clark on
December 18, 1992.Hejoins his brother, Wesley,
2 1/2.
Debbie Battaglia Entner'85 and her husband,
Michael,are excited about the birth oftheir second
child, Abigail Claire,on March 9, 1993. Abigail
weighed6lbs. 12oz. and joins Katie,2.

Daniel George'86 and his wife,Teresa,are proud

November 30, 1992.He weighed 9lbs.7oz. His
sister, Elisabeth, 1, welcomed him home.Dan is the
pastor of Nutrioso Bible Church located in the
White Mountains of Arizona.

Diana Heitzman Greenhalgh'87 and her husband,
Dale,are pleased to announce the arrival oftheir
son, Nicholas Dale,on October 26, 1992.He
weighed 7lbs. 15 oz. and measured 18 1/2 in. He
joins his sister, Gretchen Jane,2.
Debbie Fogle Wright'87 and her husband,Jim,are
rejoicing in the birth of Kathryn"Katy"Anne on
January 12, 1993.Her big brother,Ethan,2,lovingly
welcomed her home.

the proud parents of Noah Chase born on January
21, 1993. Noah weighed 9lbs. 13 1/2 oz. and
measured 21 in. Chloe, 1 1/2,is his happy sister.

Richard,on March 27, 1993.He weighed 7lbs.4oz.
and was perfectly healthy after a difficult pregnancy.

February 18, 1993.The Millards live in Chicago,

serving with the army's 31325th Airborne Infantry
Battalion in Vicenza,Italy, where he and Rebecca

measured 19 in.The Cards were married on June 20,

Mike'92 and Barbara Plough Sturgis'93N have
been blessed with the birth of their son,Matthew
Charles on January 12, 1993. Matthew weighed
8 lbs.7 oz. and measured 20 in. Mike and Barbara
were married on December 21, 1991 and live in
Xenia,Ohio.

David'70 and Evelyn Hare Southwell'70 are
the new executive administrators for South
America with the Association of Baptists for
World Evangelism(ABWE).They have been
missionaries since 1975,serving in Brazil and
Portugal as church planters. Dave and Evelyn
will travel throughout South America,helping to
coordinate the efforts of245 ABWE missionaries
presently working in Argentina,Brazil,Chile,
Colombia,Paraguay,and Peru.The Southwells
have four children; Randy,who graduates from
Cedarville in 1993;Christina, who will graduate
from Cedarville in 1994;David,who will come
to Cedarville in the fall of 1993;and Rebecca,
who will graduate from high school in 1994.
Their home is near ABWE's new home office in
Harrisburg,Pennsylvania.
Lisa Mc Clure'79 is a missionary
with ABWEto Villavicencio,
Columbia. Villavicencio is a city
on the eastern edge ofthe three
fingers ofthe Andes Mountains
chain. Lisa lived in Bogota,
Columbia for four years before
coming to her new ministry. One
aspect ofher two-fold ministry is
teaching the two children of her missionary
coworkers.The second aspect ofher ministry is
serving as a church planting assistant. In this
capacity,she is a Sunday school leader and
teacher,guitar accompanist,and helper with
young people. In March,one ofLisa's
coworkers,Harold Davis, was shot and killed
during a robbery. It has been a very difficult
time for many missionaries in Columbia and they
would appreciate your prayers for special
wisdom and strength.
Loretta Strock '84,a missionary to Reims,
France with Baptist Mid-Missions, will be back
in the states for a shortfurlough from June
through August.For many years Loretta has
sown the seeds ofthe gospel,and God is opening
doors to an eventual harvest. Her recent prayer
letter states that many spiritual inroads have been
made in the hearts ofthe French people. Loretta
will visit many ofher supporting churches and
hopes to see her friends and faithful supporters
while on furlough.
BrentBudd'88 has been working with a church
planting team in Moscow,Russia under Campus
Crusade for Christfor the past six months.His
emphasis is on youth ministry,and he plans to
stay in Russia for at least the next two years.
Many Russian people have been touched by the
gospel of Jesus Christ,and Brent asks for
continued prayer for his
ministry there.
Gary Hoag'90 and his wife,
Jenni, are currently living in
La Mirada,California, where
they both attend Talbot
Seminary and School of
Intercultural Studies. At
Talbot,they study under
veteran missionaries and have
many interesting opportunities
to minister and learn through
experiences with village
people in Mexico and inner
city trips to Los Angeles.
They both will graduate in
1994 and then plan to serve
the Lord as missionaries to the
Inuit Eskimos ofthe Canadian
Arctic. In January 1993,they
traveled to the Arctic and
lived with an Inuitfamily to
learn more oftheir ways and
language. Gary and Jenni are
also working with the youth

r. Parr, associate professor of
sociology,came to Cedarville College
in 1980from a pastoral ministry in
Michigan. He was instrumental in
starting the social work program at
the College, and he teaches the
popular Marriage and the Family
course. Dr. Parr holds degrees from
Grand Rapids Baptist College and
Grand Rapids Baptist Seminary.
Michigan State University, and The
Ohio State University. His students
know him for his special love and
concern for them,and his colleagues,
for the extra effort which he puts forth
Parr in all areas of his life.

T
oi King learned about Cedarville
College from a friend, Nancy Fissel, who
has been a mainstay in the Business Office
for many years. After graduating from West
Liberty-Salem High School,Toi attended
John Wesley College in Greensboro, North
Carolina and then worked in Bellefontaine.
Ohio before coming to Cedarville in 1972.
She started in the Student Services Division
and later transferred to the Admissions
Department. Shejoined the Department of
Education in 1978, where she manages the)i
Education Office and cares for the office
needs of the ten department faculty
members. A colleague calls her"a behind-
the-scenes hard worker who would do
anything she can to help," and one
professor says,"There isn't a more
deserving person on campus for this
award."
