for the WORD OF GOD and the TESTIMONY of JESUS CHRIST OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT Thomas White 251 N. Main St., Cedarville, OH 45314 937-766-3200 cedarville.edu/president Dear Friend of Cedarville, As I reflect on 2022, I am humbled and grateful to God for His goodness to Cedarville University. A highlight for me personally was the 26-day Transformed Tour last summer. We traveled coast-to-coast with a team of students and met or reconnected with hundreds of alumni, parents, and friends of the University. God was at work as we worshipped and opened the Word each night at churches across the country. We experienced another record enrollment this fall, dedicated the Callan athletic and academic expansion, and broke ground on the Scharnberg Business Center. We are also closing in on our $125 million goal for One Thousand Days Transformed: The Campaign for Cedarville, which will help us expand our capacity, increase affordability, transform students’ lives in and out of the classroom, and provide for future sustainability. You are part of it all! Every gift mattered in making these milestones possible for the glory of God.Thank you for your generosity to Cedarville. We’ve created this annual report especially for you. Along with your personalized giving statement, you’ll find highlights of what God has done in the past year at Cedarville. More than just facts and figures, this information demonstrates how your generosity makes a difference at Cedarville, and howwe strive to steward it well. You’ll also hear directly from some of our students, whose lives you so richly bless. Thank you for your prayers and generous support. We thank God for your partnership in equipping the next generation with excellence to stand for the Word of God and the Testimony of Jesus Christ. My Cedarville experience has been fantastic. I am so blessed to be able to receive the Christ-centered education that Cedarville is known for! The Lord has opened and closed many doors in my time at the Cedarville, but He has also provided me with great friendships to help push me more toward Christ. Donors have helped provide students like me with daily chapel. These chapels have challenged my beliefs and help me grow closer to God. They have also helped me understand how great our Creator is. I enjoy the teachings from the Word, but hearing Cedarville alumni return to campus and give testimonies about how God has worked in their lives has been something I truly enjoyed listening to this year. I am very thankful for Cedarville University, and it is because of God’s work and the help from donors that allow me to get the experience I have received while also providing it to future Yellow Jackets. Now48years later, Elvinand Joycehold the longest-consecutive donor record at Cedarville. Their journey started in 1969: Elvin tookover themen’s programin 1969 and then createdCedarville’s firstwomen’s cross country and track teamin 1979, which Joyce helped coach. Soon, theKings becameCoachandMrs. Coach to every student on campus. “Wewere impressedwith themissionof Cedarville after twoyears, so it just seemed logical to support it together,” saidElvin. As one team, theKings became instrumental in the development andgrowthof both men’s andwomen’s cross country and trackandfield teams.WhileElvinenjoyedmany highlights duringhis career, his favoritewas in2001when the Lady Jackets captured theNAIANational Championship, the school’s first inany sport, andhewas votedNAIA National Coachof theYear. “Godhas just been so good tous through track that givingback justmade sense,” saidElvin. Although their coaching years are behind them, Elvinand Joyce continue to generously give, helping students receive anexcellent educationas theygrowcloser toChrist. Though theKings servedYellowJacketAthletics for decades, Elvin says his true love forCedarville is in its biblical teachings. “Thinkingback towhenwewere students, therewere only about 350of us,” saidElvin. “Now, there are thousands of students on campus. The growth just amazesme, but themost important piecehas been seeing the students still go to chapel everyday and still get their Bibleminor. I don’t knowwhat Cedarvillewouldbewithout that.” TheKings continue to return to campus eachyear, watching students graduate andgrow theYellowJacket legacy. “Everything is connected toGod and themissionof this school,” said Joyce. “Everythingwe have, our family, our friends, even studentswhokeep in contactwithus, we owe it all to God and this school.” 8

The phrase “The Lord used Cedarville to change my life” is a phrase that I hear often at Cedarville University. And it’s one that applies so much to me. Applying to college was a scary thought for me growing up. For 15 years of my life, my mom was a single mom taking care of my sister and me. An out-of-state, expensive Christian college was not on my radar. I came to visit Cedarville University just to complete an assignment in high school. I loved everything I saw about the University and what it stood for. I met admission counselors and future professors that would pour into my life in and out of the classroom. The day I visited was the day I committed and made my deposit to Cedarville University. Although I was beyond excited, I did not know how I would pay for my schooling. I would be lying if I said there were no bumps in the road academically and financially during my time at Cedarville. There were many times when I did not know if I could continue with each semester’s bill. It has not always been easy, but it sure has been worth it. The Lord has been faithful in providing for me. Cedarville University has blessed me in more ways than I can count. My friends, professors, and coaches never fail to show their kindness to me. This University is intentional about wanting every student to have the Cedarville experience. During my time at Cedarville University, I have received scholarships that have made my education possible. Some of these scholarships include the Cedarville Fund scholarship, One Campus Leadership scholarship, and the Cedarville Excellence Award. One thing my Cedarville experience has taught me is that the Lord is good. He uses places like Cedarville University to advance His Kingdom work. The Lord has used Cedarville University to change my life, and I pray He does the same for others. My time at Cedarville has encouraged me in my faith. Hebrews chapter 3 talks about how we are to encourage one another in the faith daily. I cannot think of a better place that encourages you to be intentional in your walk with the Lord and to do it with fellow believers JOSH JONES ’24 Molecular Biology Cedarville University was the ideal place for our son, Blake, to cement his biblical worldview and open his mind and heart. As we visited other schools, Cedarville’s blend of academics, campus life, five-day chapel, and a Bible minor spoke the loudest. We knew that Blake would excel academically wherever he went — it was his search for truth that helped him make his decision. We have seen such growth spiritually, relationally, and personally in Blake during his 1,000 days. MARK SENSEMAN Parent of 2022 Graduate 10
